Jason
Dohring Talks LoVe & More
Interview conducted by Craig
Byrne - NeptuneSite Webmaster
January 2007
Next
our list of VM actors we caught up with at The CW's night
of the Winter 2007 TCA Press Tour was Jason Dohring, who
has played Logan Echolls on Veronica Mars ever since the
beginning.
No
real spoilers follow, aside from some talk about the season's
final 5 episodes and discussion of the Logan/Veronica material
in Season 3's first arc.
What
do you feel is the source of the conflict between Logan and Veronica?
I
don't know, but there sure is a tension, isn't there? I think
it's more along the lines of trust. You know what I mean, if there
can't be trust in a relationship... and I don't know. It's such
a big issue, trust. It's like, where were you? Where were you?
I was nowhere. Why didn't you tell me? And just such key things,
like why can't you just trust me, or more importantly, let me
be who I am. I just am that way, and to some degree, he has changed,
but [he's] still on the rocky side, you know. Of course, that's
probably how he'll always be.
Do
you think things might get better between them?
Yes.
Just going through so much experience together, brings understanding.
So all these things, me saving her life and her helping me so
much, even the bad experiences become "I start to get you."
Do
you think that Logan and Veronica take each other for granted?
I
think he definitely takes her for granted. I don't know if I can
answer it the other way around, but I'm a solid guy. She should
like me.
Are
you excited for the second half of the season?
I
am very excited, man. I just heard tonight that they're going
to do the five stand alone episodes. I think it'll be cool; I
know that some fans weren't as excited about it, but I have faith
in Rob, and I hope that he'll bring some cool stuff, and I think
it'll be a good chance of pace [toward the end]. I think you'll
be able to really get hard into stuff, without having to restrain
everything for five episodes. Just like bam, bam, bam. He can
do really do that very effectively. Jammed so much in with so
many other loose ends, he's just a master at that.
And
a curiousity about the season in general: What do you think of
the new Season 3 opening credits?
I
like 'em. I like the noir stuff. I mean, me in front of a nudie
bar with Dick. Can you go wrong?
